Message from the founder
Hi, my name is Mauricio Raigosa and I am the founder of Huellas que Trascienden. Everything started in 2013, when I traveled from Monterrey, my hometown, to Chiapas for the first time. I was traveling with my backpack, a great book, my journal, and was excited to unplug myself from daily life for a week. Chiapas stunned me and the people left me breathless. I discovered a magical place with a unique energy; a place rich in history, culture, and traditions.
Traveling around the state made me realize the level of poverty in which many people live. I saw how hardworking the local women are. I also realized that the interest rates local companies charged were
ridiculously high for the poorest people. I remember being in the main plaza of San Cristobal de las casas, drinking hot chocolate and eating corn bread, when an epiphany struck me as lighting.
I realized that, in Chiapas, I could consolidate all the things I enjoy and value: teaching, learning, launching start-ups, and developing myself. It was, at this moment, that I decided to start Huellas que Trascienden.
This path has been full of lessons, personal encounters, and very valuable people joining the cause.
I now work full time in the organization from San Cristobal de las Casas and also manage my business in Monterrey from here.
I appreciate your visit to our website and your interest in supporting the principles to which this organization is dedicated.
