] I like being part of this project because we help indigenous women to become better people and the workshops that are given have been fruitful, which makes me very happy for them. Additionally, I feel like I am growing as a person and learning. Show more

My name is Katia Alejandra González García, I am 19 years old, from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, and I am studying Indigenous Management and Development. I learned about Huellas que Trascienden from social networks. The name caught my attention and after researching about its work, I decided to volunteer. I was very interested in the organization’s field of influence and the way it seeks to contribute to build a better world by supporting tseltal women

I have been part of the organization for a short while, but the occasions in which I have been able to go to the community, have been experiences that nourished my heart. Spending time with the people of the town during the breaks is very pleasant; the children sharing their joy through their games makes you forget any dizziness experienced from the winding road. The people of Yochib are very hospitable and tend to smile. The scenery is a treat for the eyes (especially the mountain’s varied and wonderful shades of green) and the atmosphere that is created at the collective work gatherings is great. I am still surprised by the will to succeed that the tseltal women who are receiving the benefits, have. The fact that they have proved to be responsible and visionary, shows that they only need a little push to be able to create better living conditions for themselves.

I was motivated to support this organization because to me, it is a very important action. There are a lot of women who need support and have not be able to receive it. And this organization is focused on supporting all those women of lesser means so that they can develop and grow their own businesses. The knowledge and workshops that are given, are focused on precisely what we want them to learn: they are given in a concrete way and the focus is exactly on the key points. Show more

For a long time, I had been looking for a volunteer program to help in. While looking for associations, I found Huellas que Trascienden. I got the chance to develop a beautiful project: “Excusions that Trascend”, which has the purpose of showing the life in the community, promoting the idea of respect and giving out help. I love the organization; I like the idea and the intention that fuels it. I am very satisfied with the possibility of being able to contribute to the cause. Show more
